What's on this summer

Summer is here and there's plenty going on in the pet world worth knowing about.
Here's a roundup of what's on my radar this month and beyond.
National Microchipping Month — June
June is National Microchipping Month, and it's a great reminder to make sure your pet's details are up to date on the database. It's not just about having a chip — it needs to have your current address and contact details on it, otherwise it's not doing its job.
In the UK, microchipping is a legal requirement for:
Dogs: all dogs must be microchipped and registered by the time they are eight weeks old.
Cats: all cats in England must be microchipped by the time they are twenty weeks old.
Horses, ponies and donkeys: all equines in England, Wales and Scotland must be microchipped by law.
Rabbits can also be microchipped, and while it isn't a legal requirement it's well worth considering, especially for outdoor rabbits or those who have a habit of making a bid for freedom.
If you're a pet business owner, National Microchipping Month is a brilliant opportunity to post about this on your own social media. Your clients and followers will thank you for the reminder, and it positions you as someone who genuinely cares about the animals in their care.
Pet Hydration Awareness Month — July

After the hot spell we've just had, the importance of keeping pets hydrated has never felt more relevant. July is Pet Hydration Awareness Month, and with summer in full swing it's a timely reminder that animals feel the heat just as much as we do. Fresh water available at all times, shade to retreat to, and avoiding exercise in the hottest parts of the day can make a real difference. If you're a pet business owner, this is another brilliant topic to talk about with your audience over the coming weeks. Your clients will appreciate the advice and it keeps your content feeling current and seasonal.
A Space Opening Up in June
I have one client space opening up this month and I wanted to mention it here in case it's the nudge someone needs.
If you're a pet business owner and the behind the scenes of your business has been feeling harder than it should, whether that's your inbox, your diary, your mailing list, your social media scheduling, or just a general sense that things aren't quite as organised as you'd like, this could be the right time to get some support in place.
I work with pet business owners across the UK to take the pressure off the admin side of things completely. Everything is tailored to what your business actually needs, so there's no one size fits all approach. We start with what's most pressing and build from there.
If you'd like to find out more, a free discovery call is the best place to start. The link to book is in my bio, or you can just drop me a message and we can go from there.
Something New Is Coming in July
I'm keeping this one close to my chest for now but something new is landing in July and I think it's going to be really useful for pet business owners who have been wondering where to start when it comes to getting more organised behind the scenes.
If that sounds like it could be relevant to you, keep an eye on my social feeds over the coming weeks. I promise it will be worth the wait.
